Sunshine Awards

I’m feeling so blessed and grateful that Liveblissful here on WordPress nominated me for the Sunshine Awards. Thanks girl! Her blog is full of vegan recipes that she has adapted and they all look absolutely amazing. I really suggest everyone checking her out.

From what I know (correct me if I’m wrong), Sunshine Awards is when you answer a list of 10 questions and then nominate 10 other bloggers and I believe that is it.

Official Rules:
If you are nominated you must include the link in a blog, linking to the person/blog that nominated you. You must answer some questions and nominate 10 fellow bloggers and link their blogs in your post. Let the people you have nominated know that you have nominated them!

Here are the questions:
1. Who is your favorite philosopher? I don’t have one. Not really into philosophy. =X Haha.

2.What is your favorite number? 13

3. What is your favorite animal? Dogs, particularly my Teddy. They are so loyal and fun to be around.

Here’s a picture of him on Halloween. He was a HOTDOG. Too cute right?!

4. What are your Facebook and Twitter?

5. What is your favorite time of day? Breakfast time (around 8:00AM). I love having my toast and tea while watching a little TV or Youtube.

6. What is your favorite physical activity? Yoga, walking around the neighborhood/park, & hiking. Believe it or not, my dog can walk for 2 hours!

7. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink? Most likely water; I rarely drink soda or juices unless they’re home-made. Those are yummy too.

8. What is your favorite flower? Not really a flower kinda girl but I guess tulips? I like fruit trees and herb plants. =P

9. What is your passion? Cooking, fashion, make-up, school, & yoga.

I nominated….:
Asian Vegan Eats
Vedged Out
Veggie Vinyasa
Journey To Binge Free
Made Of Stars
The Trim Body
Earthgiven Kitchen
The Clean Plate
Honey For the Bees

PS. Enter my one-month anniversary giveaway!

My blog’s one month anniversary definitely calls for a celebration. This is a huge accomplishment for me. I’ve done 30 days challenges before and if you’ve done them, you’d know doing anything for 30 days is hard but I managed! I blogged 29 times this month, super proud of myself.

Without my readers’ support, comments, and likes, I probably wouldn’t as motivated to share my feelings and delicious recipes. In order to say thank you, I want to do a giveaway!

Here’s a picture of some of the prizes…I’m still collecting them. I’m actually going to Los Angeles, CA this weekend for Veteran’s Day weekend to go to Disneyland with my family. I’ll keep a look out for some goodies.

There are going to be two winners — one vegan prize & the other one vegetarian.
I’m going to send a box full of my favorite yummy snacks and foods to two of my readers.

Contest Rules
In order to enter, you must do one or more of these things.  If you only have one of these networks, doing one is fine. =) (But, the more you do, the more chances you get to win. Each ‘task’ will count as one entry.) The contest will start today, November 9th and go on for ONE week. It will end on November 16 at midnight.

I apologize for not extending it out to the other countries, I’m a poor college student and doing the best I can! I’m sure there will be more opportunities though. Not to worry!

Good luck! I appreciate each and everyone. Thank you for reading my blog.

P.S. Egg roll recipe will posted later tonight!

Tomorrow Marks My Blog’s One Month Anniversary. Woot! Woot!

Posted on

For the past couple of years, I have been contemplating on starting a healthy living blog. I have actually started a few but never kept up with them. I would post a couple of blogs and then give up. This time I made the commitment to blog for at least a month and if I did not enjoy it, I would stop. I have found that I love, love, love my blog. I love connecting with my readers and I’ve been involved in networking more than I could have ever imagined. Here’s to another month. =D

In honor of my eatbreatheyogini’s one month anniversary, I decided to do a giveaway to my followers. Official rules and pictures of prizes will be on tomorrow’s blog. Prizes will include my favorite vegan and vegetarian snacks and foods. In addition, I will post up the BEST recipe I have thus far. It is my mother’s vegetarian egg rolls recipe. The post will be picture heavy and the recipe is very labor intensive, but the results are  truly satisfying, I PROMISE. It is THE BEST egg roll that I have EVER tried and I had my fair share of egg rolls, vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

Please keep an eye out for tomorrow’s post. The contest will go for one week long, until November 16, 2012 at 12:00 AM.

SarahFit Dietbet Completion

Posted on

Good morning!

Today marked the end of my  second Dietbet competition. For those who do not know what DietBet is, it is a website that you can compete with others to lose weight.

This is how it works: you can either join with a group of friends, family ,or a random team. The host will initiate a specific amount of money and in order to join, you must contribute that. All the money goes into a pot and by the end of 28 days, if you have lost 4% of your body weight, you will get your money back PLUS money from those who did not lose the 4%.

Dietbet is a great way to motivate one another and on the plus side, you can win some money! If you join a random team, it’s a great way to meet new people who have the same goals as you.

This is the second time that Sarah from SarahsFabChannel on Youtube has hosted Dietbet. Her blog is in case you guys wanna check it out. She offers great recipes, workouts, and reviews!

The 1st Dietbet: I forgot what the pot of the first one was but everyone had to contribute $15 dollars. I succeeded in that competition and won around $42 dollars! That is almost a 30 dollar increase and that equals one top or more yummy groceries, or a night out at a healthy restaurant. Not too shabby right?

The 2nd Dietbet: This time, we were to contribute $25 dollars each, an increase of $10 dollars a person! I was a little nervous because 25 dollars is a lot of money. I joined anyways, hoping that this would increase the level of motivation and if I do win, I’ll get to win more money! This time 304 people joined and the pot got up to $7600 dollars. That’s a big chunk of money. I was more involved this time. I updated my activities almost everyday. You’re able to post comments of your food/workout, pictures of food/workouts, how you’re feeling, etc. Other competitors will comment and cheer you on. I also was able to connect with people on twitter/instagram. It’s nice to have a great support system when you’re trying to lose weight. Sarah was also very helpful and responsive to tweets and comments on the dietbet page. It was also a GREAT competition to do before the holidays…haha, it’s probably likely that we will gain back some during the holidays…I’m happy to say that I succeeded and won this time too! I lost about 7 lbs. WooOoOt! WooOot! Not sure how many have succeeded or how much money the winners will get but I will update once I find out!

Sarah is going to be hosting another dietbet on January 1st. How much is the contribution? Not sure but you all should join! It’s great for motivation and toning for the summer/spring!

Thank you Sarah for hosting this.
